Why do I like energy bars?
They are so easy to make and fantastic to have in the fridge for that mid day craving. I often get peckish at odd times during the day and I never want to eat biscuits because they make me feel like crap so I can have a nice cuppa and one of these bars. They satisfy the sweet tooth while killing hunger. They are filled with gluten free oats so a longer sustainable energy buzz is available. They hold together because of the chia and date caramel.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 1/2 cups of oats (GF if u wish)
3/4 cup shredded coconut
3 tablespoons chia seed in water
8/9 juicy or soaked dates (try use organic medjools)
3 tablespoons tahini
2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
Blend it all up, form into bars et voila!
